Welcome to the

Novel Drug Unit

At NDDU, we are at the forefront of pharmaceutical innovation, designing and developing smart, multifunctional nanomedicine platforms to combat bacterial infections and sepsis, including drug-resistant strains. Our research integrates in silico, in vitro, and in vivo approaches to engineer advanced biomaterials and drug delivery systems with high precision, targeting ability, and therapeutic efficacy.

Our core research areas include:

  • Design, synthesis, and characterization of intelligent pharmaceutical materials (e.g., lipids, polymers, dendrimers) tailored for targeted and responsive drug delivery.
  • Development and comprehensive evaluation of advanced nanocarriers, including physicochemical, mechanical, molecular, biological, and preclinical (in vivo) studies for subcutaneous and systemic bacterial infections and sepsis.
  • Computational modeling and simulation of the novel biomaterial to assess ligand-target interactions and for the novel drug delivery systems to optimize material properties, self-assembly, drug-carrier interactions, and performance before laboratory synthesis.

Through interdisciplinary collaboration and state-of-the-art techniques, we aim to contribute to meaningful advances in global healthcare challenges.
